What you'll need to succeed

* You will have a proven track record of achievements within a multi-agency partnership environment, and subject matter knowledge and experience in working to deliver place-based improvements, managing customer facing provision and delivering services for vulnerable communities. You will have a strong understanding of the Migration cohorts and detailed current knowledge of the issues they experience in accessing accommodation and how such issues can be overcome. You will be an excellent communicator with strong negotiating skills, adept at engaging with migrants, communities and stakeholders that interact with and support them, demonstrating enthusiasm and drive as you take people with you on this improvement journey.

Key Skills:

* Effective management skills, able to provide direction and leadership, manage and lead change, support individuals and teams, manage budgets, and undertake business planning and performance management.

* Sound partnership working skills including the successful co-ordination of partners to deliver objectives.

* Effective research, evaluation and interpretation skills to derive conclusions and plan over the short to medium term.

* Ability to make pragmatic problem-solving decisions including understanding wider partnership impact.

* Effective people management and performance management skills with the ability to provide direction, leadership and support to individuals and teams.

* Clear understanding of property and tenancy legislation

* Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and persuade others, negotiate effective business solutions, challenge existing practices and identify innovative solutions.

* Able to apply project management principles and practices to complex issues, setting timescales and quality benchmarks and reviewing effectiveness of service delivery.

Qualifications and/or experience:

* Post-graduate/professional qualification in management or the service specialism; or equivalent level of significant experience demonstrating comprehensive application of knowledge in a relevant setting.

* Significant recent and relevant experience in delivering customer facing services for communities or working within the field of housing/accommodation support or similar discipline.

* Experience of managing/leading staff and exposure to shaping and supporting initiatives in a political environment.

* Experience of delivering or co-ordinating a quality service including managing a budget and contributing to financially related decisions on high level spending.
