Our client is an award-winning co-operative of many UK and European berry growers. Due to on-going success they are now on the hunt for a very capable individual to work as Continuity Manager. The Continuity Manager is primarily responsible for helping to co-ordinate operational functions within their business over weekends. You will need to ensure (through planning and engagement) that the service level to customers and growers remains at a high level over weekends.

You will understand plans constructed by other teams and influence the processing of daily orders, ensuring that fulfilment of orders is as high as possible whilst maintaining appropriate stock levels across the various sites and allocation takes efficiency into consideration. You will flag up opportunities to reduce cost and highlight risks across various sites alongside appropriate action to mitigate. The role will require an excel analytical element in terms of reviewing picking, sales and forecasting data so that appropriate decisive action can be taken at the weekend to lead into the following week.
Communication will form a large part of the role, so there should be a strength in multi-channel comms and appropriate use of each of them.

Key Accountabilities (not exhaustive)

• In week partnering and understanding of the current situation for all products, likely risks and opportunities that could affect weekend operating.
• Oversight of daily orders, with a view to maintain optimal stock levels at packhouses and a fair service level to all customers over the weekend
• Allocate orders in a way that maximise transport and packhouse efficiency for UK growers/minimising costs for Berryworld in the import season over the weekend
• Review and challenge the grower base on forecasting/lorry departures over the weekend to ensure that the business is aware and can act against pockets of stock/forthcoming residency issues.
• Co-ordinate inbound lorry information on imported product where required to ensure proactive approach to allocating stock.
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders and be direct in their approach to requests for support/action/decision.

Qualifications, experience, and skills

* Competent user of Microsoft Excel

* Confident user of Word and Outlook

* Self-motivated, organised and self-reliant with a proven record of excellent time management

* Excellent communication skills with confidence to pro-actively manage demanding stakeholders.

* Able to work with and meet tight, time critical deadlines and ensure stakeholders are kept updated

* Able to work independently, as well as within a team

This role is home-based, with the expectation of 1 day per week to be present at the head-office in Hertfordshire.

Work days a per : Thursday - Monday (8am to 5pm)
