Responsibilities:

Purpose of the position
Responsible to the Purchasing and Supply Chain Director for the management and development of the Bids Procurement and Subcontract Management team across Marshall ensuring that business and functional process is followed and any potential improvements to this are developed and implemented. This team will be supporting Marshall to Win Bids, Delivery Contracts and Develop New Products.
Accountability
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for developing, deploying, and embedding the required processes and tools across the Purchasing team to drive standardisation and optimisation of work practices.
  • Review and challenge all Purchasing and Supply Chain inputs (Cost, Quality and Delivery) into CSRs and MRBs prior to inclusion into project packs and reviewed by senior business stakeholders.
  • Monthly reporting of Purchasing and Supply Chain Bid and Project performance against project and functional targets highlighting risks and opportunities
  • Target, monitor and deliver cost savings in line with project or functional targets.
  • Function as functional escalation point for Business Line Directors concerning supplier and/or team performance.
  • Drive a continuous improvement approach to Procurement in supporting bids and delivering subcontracts.
  • Attend all pre-Gate reviews representing the function and providing key functional guidance and inputs to the solution.
  • Strive to seek out innovation and using external references to deliver best in class processes and people.
  • Work with Global Category Managers to align sourcing and bid winning strategy.
Tasks:
  • Review, and continually develop, the Purchasing and Supply Chain processes and governance.
  • Develop a robust process and tools to support the consolidation of all supply and supplier risks, showing risk status and all mitigation actions that are planned to reduce the impact.
  • Present monthly performance reports for team for Purchasing and Supply Chain Director - aligned to Marshall Group and Functional KPIs and performance targets.
  • Deputise for the Purchasing and Supply Chain Director as required.
  • Drive a digital on-line approach to P&SC bid support and project delivery.
Capability
Behavioural Competencies:
  • Strong Leadership
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experienced cross functional stakeholder manager
Technical Competencies:
  • Experience in Best in class purchasing processes.
  • Familiar with ERP - ideally IFS
Certification:
  • Degree qualified in business or engineering disciplines.
  • CIPS qualified - ideally.
Experience:
  • Experience working within a P&SC function in an engineering business.
  • Managing diverse global teams
  • Leading complex subcontracts as part of major projects
  • Working as part of a cross functional team to develop outsourced solutions.
  • Strong Contractual background
