Salary: £11.50 - £12.25/hour

As part of a small logistics team, this role is responsible for assisting with general logistics duties throughout the yard as required.

Main Activities/Responsibilities:

• Checking all delivered items and signing for deliveries when required.

• Ensuring all items are correctly picked, packed and loaded on the correct lorry for delivery to site.

• Assisting the drivers with unloading items when required.

• Reporting any issues that prevent planned items from being despatched.

• Storing incoming goods in correct area and advising the T&P Manager/Team Leader.

• Helping to organise materials/picking of materials for the factory if required.

• Being vigilant within the yard and notify the T&P Manager/Team Leader of any damages or H&S

breaches.

• Performing cleaning duties in and around the yard, keeping it safe and tidy at all times.

• Assisting the Logistics team in other areas when required.

Other Responsibilities:

• Ensuring all paperwork is maintained in the correct manner.

• Acting as an ambassador/exemplar of the organisation and embracing/supporting/promoting the company culture and values.

• Seeking and developing ongoing continuous improvement.

• To comply with any objectives/targets/KPIs given.

• To comply with all company policies including Health & Safety and Environmental/Sustainability Policies

• Any other duties relevant to the role or as determined by the Manager.

Training & Development:

• Attending any internal/external training courses relevant to the role or as required by the company.

• Ongoing personal development.

Knowledge/Experience/Attributes:

Essential

• Experience of working in a Logistics department, specifically in a Goods In/Yard Operative role.

• Work well under pressure.

• Good communications skills.

• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work accordingly.

• Ability to work alone as well as with others.

• Must work well as part of a team.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

• Confident working both indoors and outdoors.

• Health and safety focussed.

Desirable

• Good computer skills.

• Product knowledge of the materials used.

• Current or previous forklift licence would be an advantage.

• Overhead crane licence.
