DSP Key Stage 2 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Start Date: Monday, 21st October
School: Northwood Community Primary School, Kirkby
Contract: Full-time, term-time only

The Role:
Northwood Community Primary School is looking for a dedicated and experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work within our Designated Specialist Provision (DSP) for Key Stage 2. You will provide focused support to a child with complex needs, helping them to access a tailored curriculum and progress in both academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

Working closely with the child's class teacher and the SENCO to deliver 1:1 support that meets their specific needs.
Supporting the child in developing life skills, social skills, and emotional regulation.
Assisting with both academic and practical activities, adapting resources and methods to ensure accessibility.
Maintaining close communication with parents and carers regarding progress and ongoing support strategies.

Person Specification:

Experience working with children with complex needs, preferably in a specialist or SEN setting.
A positive, patient, and resilient approach to supporting children.
A relevant SEN qualification or experience in a DSP or similar environment is highly desirable.
The ability to work collaboratively with the school team to create a nurturing and structured environment.
