CLASS 1 DRIVER

PAY RATE: £17.83 PER HOUR 

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in CAMBUSLANG, GLASGOW.

Rates of Pay:

£17.83 per hour (this is a PAYE vacancy, so holiday pay will be accrued separately)
Day to Day Duties

Your duties as a Class 1 Driver will involve but not be limited to:

Delivery of goods from warehouse to store and trunking
Operate and drive various Class 1 vehicles in a safe and efficient manner to and from delivery locations
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly
Adhere to traffic laws and regulations
Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers
Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
Essential Skills

As a Class 1 Driver you will need to:

Hold a valid UK Category CE Licence
Have a minimum of 24 months experience driving CE vehicles
No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes
Have a valid UK CPC Card and UK Digi Card
Must undergo a drug and alcohol test
Must be able to speak and read a good level of English
Punctuality and excellent time keeping skills
Have a good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
Effective communication skills
Desirable Experience

Previous experience in a similar role will be beneficial
Training 

Driving assessment will have to be completed, including theory test
Following successful assessment, there will be a one-week paid induction, which will take place on day shifts
Industry related training and ongoing support throughout
