SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Harrow

Are you a SEN Teaching Assistant, looking to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people with social, emotional, mental health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviours? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a thriving SEN School in Harrow.

This is a full-time, long term, SEN Teaching Assistant position to start as soon as possible and will be with a view to going on a permanent contract with the School.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to support students with SEMH and challenging behaviours in their academic and personal development. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a safe and nurturing learning environment where every student can flourish.

Your duties will include:

Providing one-on-one support to students with SEMH needs.
Assisting in the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour plans.
Encouraging and promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
Supporting classroom activities and assisting the teacher in delivering lessons.
Offering emotional support and guidance to students when needed.

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications and attributes:

Experience working with students with SEMH and challenging behaviours (preferred).
A passion for helping children and young people reach their full potential.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a compassionate approach to student support.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A willingness to undergo relevant training and development.
