We are looking for an experienced Business Advisor to join a local authority team based in Erith, Kent. The ideal candidate will have a background in sales and be comfortable engaging with businesses within the Borough to discuss recruitment services, candidate support, and council-wide initiatives that benefit local businesses.
Day to day of the role: - Actively source employment opportunities for registered clients, including paid employment, work placements, work tasters, and trials.
- Utilise sales experience to engage with local businesses, promoting the service’s ability to assist with filling vacancies and providing ongoing support.
- Achieve targeted numbers of vacancies to meet jobseeker/client needs.
- Support local businesses with staff recruitment by promoting vacancies, CV matching, shortlisting, and organising assessment centres and interviews.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses through canvassing activities across various locations and sectors.
- Engage employers in pre-employment programmes and increase employer participation.
- Maintain relationships through regular contact, site visits, and newsletters.
- Contribute to networking, job fairs, employer events, and sector-based open days to widen the pool of potential applicants.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - Proven experience in a sales or business advisory role.
- Strong ability to communicate and engage with businesses and partner organisations.
- Experience in recruitment processes and employer engagement activities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
