A progressive and dynamic accountancy firm in East London is actively seeking an ACA/ACCA part-qualified Audit Semi-Senior to join their expanding team. This role not only offers a clear path for career progression, with the potential to advance to senior or assistant manage as the audit portfolio grows, but also provides exposure to financial reporting, tax, and due diligence work.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Assist the audit partner in the planning phase of audits.
  • Execute statutory audits of UK headquartered medium and large companies and groups as part of an audit team.
  • Take the lead role in smaller audits.
  • Complete audit files up to manager or director review, supervising and reviewing the work of junior staff.
  • Directly engage with clients to resolve technical issues and agree on audit adjustments.
  • Prepare client statutory accounts under FRS102, including UK and international group consolidations.
  • Draft corporate tax computations for tax manager review.
  • Attend client finalisation meetings alongside the audit partner.
  • Support audit partners with ad hoc assignments such as due diligence, internal audit, share valuations, and systems reviews.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Part-qualified (ACA/ACCA) or experienced QBE may be considered.
  • Strong literacy and numerical skills with proven double-entry bookkeeping skills.
  • Basic tax knowledge, including corporation tax computations, PAYE, VAT.
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience within a practice environment with strong audit exposure.
  • Up-to-date technical knowledge, including recent developments in auditing accounting standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Organised with the ability to manage a varied workload.
  • Client-focused and commercially aware.
