Job Title: Complex Care Assistant - School Support (SEN)

Location: Ilkley
Shift: 2 Days During the Week, 08:20 AM - 15:50 PM

About the Role:
As a Sonderwell Complex Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in school. This role requires a reliable individual who is not only compassionate and patient but also able to drive.

You'll be part of a supportive team that provides ongoing training and development to help you meet the complex needs of your client and offer them the life they choose. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child's life, assisting them in their everyday activities and providing personalized care.

Your Responsibilities:

• Personalized Care: You'll support your client by meeting their unique needs. From helping them through daily routines to providing support during medical appointments, your role will be as diverse as the person you care for.
• Physical Care: You'll assist with a variety of physical aspects, ensuring the comfort and safety of the child under your care.
• Complex Care Needs: The role involves complex care tasks, including but not limited to:
  • Tracheostomy care
  • Oral, tracheal, and nasopharyngeal suctioning
  • Enteral feeding
  • Oxygen therapy
  • PEG feeding

While previous experience in complex care is beneficial, we offer training to those who are eager to learn and develop in this field.

What We're Looking For:
We are looking for someone with the patience, flexibility, and willingness to meet a child where they are at, helping them live their life to the fullest. Ideally, you'll have some relevant care experience or a caring personality with the drive to learn and grow. You will be working either independently or as part of a team, and your role may include providing care for multiple clients if you have the availability.

Support and Training:

• Comprehensive Training: You'll receive both online and classroom training in specific complex care needs.
• Ongoing Support: A Care Co-ordinator or Nurse Manager will always be available to guide and support you in your role. You will also have access to our 'Carer App,' which provides valuable information and insight to help you in your day-to-day work.
• Further Development: You'll have the opportunity to study for a relevant NVQ and continue your professional development.
