I am currently recruiting for a Piping Calculations Engineering Specialist to work in Bristol for a global leader in civil Nuclear engineering. The initial duties of this position will contribute towards a network of more than 70km of piping of a nuclear island.

The Role

The key responsbilities of this position will include:

Gathering input data, analysing/updating hypothesis notes and loading description reports
Performing the piping flexibility calculations and calculation of piping support.
Analysing the mechanical behaviour of the piping network with respect to the codified criteria,
Proposing appropriate and proportionate modifications in case the sizing criteria are not met
Producing calculation notes

Experience required:

Essential:

Prior experience with a finite element analysis tool
Strong mechanical knowledge (modal analysis, static analysis)Desirable:

Experience of working in a nuclear environment
Experience in ANSYS and in calculation of special piping component (fixed point, endplates)
Experience in RSTAB or BEAM STRESS and support calculation
Knowledge of RCC-M code (section C3650 at least) and understanding of damage mode
Knowledge of CALTUY/Pipestress
