Adecco are currently working in partnership with a large London Borough to recruit an Interim Head of Estate Services. As the Head of Estate Services, you'll be the driving force behind creating and managing exceptional office and operational spaces for this council. Your leadership will support 3,500 individuals, including staff, contractors, and tenants, ensuring a seamless and productive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Managed Spaces: Oversee the provision of office spaces, civic headquarters, and operational areas, catering to the diverse needs of our council community.

Facilities Management (FM): Lead the in-house FM team, delivering services across 160 buildings, supported by a network of approved framework contractors.

Strategic Development: Continuously review and develop innovative options for the council's future FM services.

Comprehensive Oversight: Take charge of maintenance & engineering, performance and business support, facilities managers, and cleaning teams, guaranteeing smooth operations.

Efficient Work Environment: Foster a dynamic working environment that embraces new ways of working, maximizing space efficiency and employee productivity.

Revenue Maximization: Enhance revenue streams from our property portfolio, with a keen focus on maintenance and soft FM services like cleaning.

Contract Management: Oversee contract negotiations and collaborations with strategic partners, constantly seeking innovative ways to deliver outstanding value for money.

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

A proven track record of experience at senior management level managing estate services across a broad or varied property portfolio.

A strong track record in the delivery of service improvements and targets across a broad range of operational teams.

Proven track record of delivering change and managing transformation projects.

Experience of resource management and business analysis skills including effective commercial management, budget management and income / grant maximisation.

Evidence of delivering value to the business through service strategies.

Knowledge of maintenance and engineering or cleaning teams including the health and safety and compliance requirements required within the team.

Ability to build a professional relationship of trust with both internal and external clients.

Ability to provide strategic and operational leadership of a maintenance & engineering or cleaning service.

Ability to manage and deliver work on time and within budget.
