What you'll be doing;
  • Provide shift coverage to ensure continuous ERF operation
  • Assist Shift Team Leader in monitoring and operating plant from Central Control Room
  • Coordinate control room operations for consistent power production and steam turbine operation
  • Take immediate corrective action during emergencies to limit risks
  • Monitor and control process parameters, raw materials usage, and environmental emissions
  • Safely shut down and restart plant sections according to procedures
  • Perform emergency operations during unit trips and abnormal conditions
  • Carry out lockout-tagout isolations and understand applied risk hazards
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental Permit and report non-compliance
  • Conduct routine plant inspections, adjustments, and data collection

What we're looking for;

1. Knowledge / Qualifications

• IT Literate

• An understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues would be an advantage

• Interested in mechanical & electrical plant with some experience of plant operations, ideally with experience as an Engineering role Appropriate NVQ for the duties of the post

2. Ability / Experience

• Experience gained through working in a continuous process environment, preferably with experience of working shifts.

• Able to operate, or train to operate a variety of auxiliary and fixed plant.

• Able to work a continuous rotating shift pattern, including adequate voluntary overtime to cover the workload and colleagues' absences.

3. Motivation

• Self-motivated, able to prioritise tasks and work with minimal supervision.

• An effective team member, able to communicate well orally and in writing

• Flexible, with a creative approach to problem-solving
