The Role

As Project Manager/Project Engineer in Engineering Innovation you will lead and deliver projects from initial idea to the final adoption, ensuring each project is guided towards realising tangible benefits. You will conceptualise new, collaborative ways of delivering innovation, driving cost and carbon efficiency and turning innovation ideas and objectives into practical, well organised plans, delivering them on time to quality, within budget. You will work with advanced technologies, helping to innovate and develop alternative solutions to these big challenges whilst contributing towards our ambitious plans for a greener North West.

In-person site attendance in Lingley Mere, Warrington is required for a minimum of three days per week to promote the benefits of face-to-face collaboration, alongside some travel to other sites in the North West and flexible hours to support work-life balance. Initially, you may be expected to attend more frequently to familiarise yourselves with the site, the team, and your role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and synchronise a multi-disciplinary team to drive the Engineering Innovation programme, ensuring effective collaboration and delivery of project outcomes
  • Develop and maintain robust project management plans, overseeing their execution and adherence to safety and governance standards
  • Build strategic relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders, promoting, influencing and advocating for innovative ideas within the business
  • Proactively manage risks, changes, and resource allocation to ensure the seamless progression of projects within the programme
  • Communicate regularly with all parties involved, providing updates and reports to maintain transparency and alignment with programme objectives

Skills and Experience:

To be successful with your application, you’ll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria:

  • Demonstrable experience managing and delivering projects within a technical/engineering environment
  • Qualified, or working towards: APM PMQ or equivalent
  • Relevant post-graduate qualification (i.e. MSc in Project Management) or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience
  • Active PDP and working towards professional membership e.g. ChPP, RPP, CEng, CSCim or RISC
  • Hold a current UK/EU driving licence
