This Manufacturing Group based in Blackburn currently turnover sub 30 million and have a solid forecast of growth for the next 5 years on a steep trajectory. They have impressive offices with a lean Finance team all reporting directly to the FD. As a business they are looking for a temporary Assistant Accountant to cover maternity leave on a 4 month temporary contract basis.
The Job
The accounts function currently has responsibility for several UK companies and this Assistant Accountant Job will take financial ownership of one of these companies, taking the accounts to trial balance whilst also processing the weekly payroll.
Your areas of responsibility will include the:
- Sales Ledger
- Purchase Ledger
- Credit Control
- Cash Book
- Monthly Journals
- VAT
- Weekly Payroll of 80 staff
The Requirements
To be considered for this job, you must have demonstratable experience in a varied accounts position, not only processing purchase and sales invoices.
Also, you will ideally have:
- the ability to take the accounts to trail balance.
- experience processing weekly payroll.
- be AAT qualified or equivalent.
Training will be provided as there will be a handover period, and if you are actively studying this employer will support your study.
The Benefits:
- Salary is ideally up to £28,000 but given this is a contract position there is potential movement above for the right candidate. (pro rata)
- You will work a hybrid week, following your training period) with 2 days at home and agree your start and finish times upon appointment, with an early Friday finish for the whole business.
