Location: Stallingborough
Salary: £26,000 - £30,000
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM (30-minute lunch)
Contract: 6-12 months (direct hire with potential to become permanent)

About the Opportunity

We are working with a leading company in the chemical and composite materials sector, seeking an enthusiastic Laboratory Technician to join their Technical team in Stallingborough. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual looking to gain hands-on experience in a supportive scientific environment, with genuine prospects for progression.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will support a range of technical functions including product development, colour matching, and performance testing of composite materials. You will collaborate across departments—such as production, planning, engineering, and technical services—to optimise laboratory performance and ensure high product quality for both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in technical projects involving UPR, VE, and GC formulations

*

Carry out colour matching and define laboratory formulations for new products

*

Support the introduction of new products and evaluate end-use characteristics

*

Perform laboratory testing and maintain accurate records in line with project objectives

*

Ensure all work complies with safety, health, environmental, and housekeeping standards

*

Support quality assurance requirements, including ISO compliance

*

Assist in resolving production issues through laboratory investigation

*

Maintain suitable stock levels of laboratory consumables and ensure equipment is well maintained

*

Attend technical meetings and contribute to R&D discussions and idea development

*

Liaise with cross-functional teams to ensure project and production alignment

Key Requirements

*

BSc (Hons) degree in Chemistry or a related scientific or industrial field

*

Alternatively, strong A-levels in science subjects with a desire to build a career in a laboratory environment

*

Previous experience in a chemical or industrial setting is beneficial but not essential

*

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

*

Enthusiastic about hands-on laboratory work, with good problem-solving and analytical skills

*

Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team

*

High attention to detail and a commitment to quality
