Robertson Bell are working with this leading housing provider whilst they recruit to a permanent Service Charge Manager role. Reporting into the Head of Finance Shared Services you will lead a large team and be responsible for all service charge and rent accounting.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Management of the service charge and rent teams, providing direction, offering necessary support and running appraisals and performance reviews.
  • Lead on any recruitment for your team and assist with the training of new starters.
  • Determine each team members responsibilities during the accounting life cycle and ensure processes and procedures are well documented.
  • Hold regular meetings with stakeholders, challenging their spend and assisting with future budget setting.
  • Oversee the timely production of service charge statements at year-end.
  • Ensure service charges offer value for money and are affordable for tenants.
  • Oversee the maintenance and required updates of the organisations rent policy.
  • Lead on all submissions of rent related data and ensure all accounts of residents reflect accurate adjustments and charges.
  • Review systems and ensure they are fit for purpose and enable an efficient working environment.
  • Work closely with internal and external auditors.

This permanent Service Charge Manager role will best suit someone from a varied background in housing with a solid understanding of service charge accounting. The role will require one to two visits per month to the organisations head office in Leicestershire or London.

The successful candidate will be:

  • Highly experienced in service charge accounting.
  • A first class communicator.
  • Confident driving change and improving processes.
  • Be an experienced people manager.
  • A confident user of Excel.
