They specialize in accountancy and bookkeeping, personal tax planning, and supporting startup businesses. The client base this person will be involved with primarily consists of sole traders, landlords, builders, and small businesses.Role Overview:We are seeking an Accounts & Tax Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing tax returns and accounts for sole traders and partnerships. The ideal candidate will have experience working with smaller clients and the ability to complete personal tax returns independently.Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare tax returns and accounts for sole traders and partnerships.
  • Liaise directly with clients to gather necessary information and handle queries.
  • Manage client accounts using software such as QuickBooks and FreeAgent.
  • Ensure accuracy in profit and loss statements and other financial documents.
  • Handle a portfolio of clients.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients to ensure the timely completion of tasks.
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Experience in personal tax and profit & loss reporting.
  • Previous experience in a small accountancy practice is preferred.
  • AAT qualification is advantageous, but candidates who are QBE (Qualified by Experience) will also be considered.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, FreeAgent, and other accounting software.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • Ideally, we are looking for someone who is content with their career and does not seek rapid progression, but still enjoys a challenging and rewarding role.
