Role Details
The role of the Class 2 Driver is to contribute to achieving service levels of 99%+, for our customers serviced by nightshift routes
You will be expected to carry out vehicle checks, unloading and delivery while ensuring compliance with safety legislation and company procedures.
Ensure a consistent, efficient and reliable service for each drop, including the loading and unloading of vehicles using the correct MHE.
Some responsibilities of the role include:
* Demonstrate a positive, customer-focused, and professional approach.

* Demonstrates professionalism and deliver an awesome customer experience to both internal and external customers.
* Ensure an efficient and reliable service is delivered to all customers on allocated routes.
* Maintain effective communication with the nightshift management and delivery teams to ensure customer expectations can be proactively managed and that priority drops always reach their destination when challenges arise.
* Support the Transport team and other drivers to reduce and prevent failed deliveries by taking additional deliveries and supporting with vehicle recovery where feasible.
* Update customer records to ensure that useful information is available to drivers covering allocated routes (e.g what three words) for delivery points.
* Promote the company and do everything possible to enhance the company's image through appearance and behaviour.
* Maintain vehicle appearance in line with company policies.
* Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements, including adherence to driver's hours and rest breaks.
* Ensure that vehicles are driven with due care and attention.
* Accurate completion of all paperwork including credits, returns, temperature records, VC40 & Debrief.
* Complete all daily checks and ensure that both the Vehicle and Freezer are fuelled.
* Read, understand, and adhere to the Drivers Handbook guidelines and SSW's at all times.
* Demonstrate commitment to and support our Environmental, Social and Governance goals in how daily tasks and responsibilities are carried out.
* To disclose any evidence of product safety, legality, quality, or integrity issues.
* To report all accidents and promote best practices in Health and Safety and contribute to ensuring a safe working environment for all employees, workers, and visitors on site.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
Essential
* Good IT & administration skills.
* Numeracy, and a good level of English.
* A good team player, with attention to detail and good problem-solving skills that follows processes in place and prioritises business improvement.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
* Approachable and adaptable individual with a can-do attitude.
* Class 2 Licence, Tacho card, and full CPC Hours.
* Good working knowledge of Working Time Directive and Drivers' hours regulations (EC) 561/2006.
* High attention to detail and the ability to ensure vehicle and product checks are carried out effectively.
* A minimum of one year of multi-drop delivery experience.
* Physically fit, able to lift heavy items and manage roll cages on rough terrain.
Desirable
* Multi-temperature and/or Foodservice delivery experience.
* One year of professional HGV driving experience.
