We need a Fixed Asset Business Analyst to join us at AWE Nuclear Security Technologies.

Location: Hybrid and fully flexible working, with our offices based near Reading at RG7 4PR. You will need to be onsite up to 2 days per week

Salary Range starts at: £28,080 this is very much open to upwards negotiation if you have the skills and experience that we need.

You will be joining the business as it embarks on one of the most complex infrastructure programmes in the country at a pivotal moment in its evolution. The UK government has committed substantial investment into improving our infrastructure, so we are building a talented team to make the most of this opportunity.

As a Fixed Asset Business Analyst you will assist with fixed asset deliverables as agreed with the Defence Nuclear Organisation (DNO) within to enable them to ensure their financial accounts are accurately reported.

A typical day for a Fixed Asset Business Analyst could look like this:

  • Supporting the Fixed Asset Manager in shaping and delivering the corporate annual objectives.
  • Assist in providing Inventory Reporting to the DNO, ensuring quality of service.
  • Assist in providing Fixed Asset Reporting to the DNO ensuring quality of service, including Asset Change Notes (ACN), Asset Delivery Schedule (ADS), Assets Under Construction (AUC), evidence to support capitalisation of builds, annual reviews on asset life, impairments, and verifications.
  • Assist in providing other reporting to the DNO ensuring quality of service, including liability reporting.
  • Respond to adhoc DNO finance queries in a timely manner whilst developing and maintaining strong, collaborative and mutually beneficial relationship.
  • Complying with appropriate procedures, processes and systems to ensure the quality and consistency of data.
  • Driving the continuous improvement of financial processes, striving for greater innovation and better value for money, including opportunities to build greater resilience and efficiency within the finance workforce.
  • Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality and be a great team player.

We would like you to demonstrate or have experience of:

  • Being open to challenge and new ideas, sharing of knowledge and experience, encouraging others through building a supportive team environment
  • Developing and maintaining strong, collaborative and mutually beneficial stakeholder relationships
  • Effective communication and team working
  • Good IT skills, in particular MS Excel
  • Able to demonstrate an analytical mind including good attention to detail
  • Ability to follow process
  • Working towards a relevant professional membership, or qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, AAT)
