Maintenance Assistant - Glasgow - Static Site

FM Search & Select Ltd is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our client's team in Glasgow, providing essential maintenance support on a prestigious static site. This role involves a mix of planned and reactive maintenance, including blacksmith maintenance, minor repairs, and general site upkeep. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach, a good understanding of building services, and the flexibility to work evenings and weekends, with time off in lieu.

£29,500 per annum

Full-time, permanent position

Responsibilities:

*

Assist with planned and reactive maintenance across the site

*

Carry out minor fabric repairs, plumbing work, and blacksmith maintenance

*

Support M&E engineers with routine servicing and inspections

*

Ensure the upkeep of doors, locks, fixtures, and fittings

*

Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs

*

Escort and liaise with contractors attending the site

*

Maintain compliance with Health & Safety regulations and site policies

*

Support other FM teams when required (cleaning, security, front of house)

Qualifications & Skills:

*

Previous experience in a maintenance or handyperson role

*

Basic knowledge of building fabric repairs, plumbing, and blacksmith maintenance

*

Understanding of Health & Safety in a maintenance environment

*

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

*

Physically fit - comfortable working at height and in confined spaces

*

Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and evenings

Desirable:

*

PASMA/IPAF trained

*

Asbestos awareness

*

L8 / Potable Water awareness

*

Experience in a similar FM environment
