About the role: We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant special school in Barnet. This rewarding role involves supporting children with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities, including Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), and Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) needs.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with experienced teachers and support staff to provide tailored educational and emotional support. You will assist students in both group and one-to-one settings, helping them access the school's diverse and engaging curriculum.

Application Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children with SEN, preferably in a school setting.
• Knowledge of or qualifications related to MLD, ASD, SLD, PMLD, or SALT (desirable).
• Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
• A valid DBS check or willingness to undergo one.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide targeted support to students with diverse needs, promoting their engagement and development.
• Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.
• Facilitate classroom activities and ensure pupils feel included and supported.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and therapists to adapt lessons and activities.
• Promote a safe and positive learning environment.
