Appointed Person - CPCS A61 / NPORS N401

Carbon recruitment are currently seeking a CPCS/NPORS appointed person for a construction company based in Southampton. They generally cover a 65 mile radius or so from Southampton and work with energy providers / national grid, local councils etc.

You will require a CPCS A61 or a NPORS N401 and have done or got involved with temporary works co-ordinating as your be overseeing lifting operations on construction sites. The TWCTC course would be an advantage but not essential as long as you have some experience in the design and drawings for a lift.

• Appointed Person certification, such as the CPCS A61 or NPROS (N401).

• Oversee and conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop method statements for lifting activities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and best practices.

• Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and lifting teams to develop detailed lift plans and schedules.

• Select appropriate lifting equipment and ensure that it is properly inspected, maintained, and operated by trained personnel.

• A good communicator to provide clear instructions and guidance to lifting teams and crane operators, ensuring safe and efficient execution of lifting operations

• Monitor lifting activities closely to identify and mitigate potential hazards or issues, taking prompt corrective action when necessary.

• Maintain accurate documentation of lift plans, risk assessments, equipment inspections, and other relevant records.

• Conduct regular audits and inspections of lifting equipment and procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company standards.

• Coordinate the design, erection, inspection, use, monitoring, maintenance and dismantling of temporary works. Requirements and company standards.

• Proven experience as an Appointed Person in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of lifting operations and associated regulations.

• Very good organizational and problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

• Be able to use and understand computer software for planning and documentation purposes.
