Must be Door Supervision trained (Minimum Requirement) for guarding role.
Has experience leading a team in a dynamic environment.
Stakeholder management experience
Have experience within a mental health requirement or current qualification as a mental health first aider.
Have a customer service background.
Must be fit and able to manually handle safely.
Can work in a stressful or pressurised environment.
Have excellent communication skills, in particular written and verbal command of English.
Experience working for the NHS / Care sector or HMPS is desirable.
Existing military or law enforcement background desirable.
Duties:
- Organising Secondary Care / Welfare/supervision of vulnerable patients - (Bed Watch).
- Supporting nursing staff or existing team with interventions to control patients as required.
- Ensuring thorough handover between shifts and nursing team are completed at the start and end of shifts where cover has been arranged
- Supporting and assisting with the dynamic risk assessment of patient's behaviours to ensure risks are minimised in accordance with provided training, to proactively manage threats from the patient.
- Identifying signs of distress or discomfort of the patient
- Reporting of incidents concerning events relating to aggressive/violent behaviour.
- Securing/detaining patients to the bed/ward as required
- Suicide watch, monitoring of patient who is placed on suicide watch when it is believed that they exhibit warning signs indicating that they may be at risk of committing bodily harm or purposefully killing themselves
