I'm recruiting for a Payroll & Reward Manager to join my Client's Employee Relations and Rewards team, focusing on delivering their People Supporting Strategy and embedding a strategic, positive, and successful approach to HR. This senior role is an excellent opportunity for a professional to lead and develop a team within the areas of Reward, Payroll, and Pensions, ensuring our policies and processes are compliant and effective.

Job Description:

  • Lead and develop an engaged team, defining clear roles and responsibilities.
  • Deliver an efficient payroll and pensions service, resolving operational and process queries.
  • Manage the organisation’s pension offer and salary sacrifice schemes.
  • Ensure payroll, pensions, and reward policies and processes are legally compliant and adhere to HMRC regulations.
  • Provide expert advice and recommendations on employee reward to senior leaders.
  • Develop and deliver an innovative reward and recognition offering.
  • Lead on gender pay gap initiatives, equal pay audits, and other equality-related actions.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes impacting pay and reward, developing recommendations.
  • Manage the payroll service, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees.
  • Advise on employment tax issues, NMW compliance, taxable benefits, and overseas working.
  • Manage salary sacrifice schemes and ensure HMRC compliance.
  • Act as the subject matter expert on pensions, guiding the organisation through legislative changes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven background in a similar payroll and rewards role within a sizeable organisation.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and support a team.
  • Expertise in managing operational reward activities, including payroll and pensions.
  • Knowledge of current legislation and regulations related to pay, pensions, and rewards.
  • Experience in conducting benchmarking analysis and advising on pay and pensions changes.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide information and guidance on pension schemes.
