The Opportunity

TSR Legal is working in partnership with a well-established and highly respected regional law firm to recruit an experienced Residential Conveyancer to lead a growing conveyancing team based in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and proactive individual to combine hands-on fee-earning with leadership responsibilities in a supportive and collaborative environment.

The successful candidate will manage a small residential property team while handling a varied caseload, supported by a dedicated Paralegal and Legal Secretary. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys client-facing work and is passionate about mentoring and developing junior staff.


Key Responsibilities

Fee-Earning Work:

  • Managing a caseload of residential transactions, including sales, purchases, remortgages, and transfers of equity

  • Drafting and reviewing contracts, raising enquiries, reporting on title and mortgage, and progressing files through to exchange and completion

  • Acting for mortgage lenders, reviewing AML documentation, and ensuring compliance throughout

  • Communicating regularly with clients to provide clear updates and advice

  • Keeping up to date with changes in conveyancing law and best practice

Team Leadership Duties:

  • Supervising and supporting a small team of conveyancers and support staff

  • Conducting regular team meetings, one-to-ones, and Personal Development Reviews

  • Overseeing recruitment, onboarding, and HR-related tasks for the team

  • Allocating new instructions and managing workflow within the team

  • Representing the team at internal management meetings and collaborating with senior leadership

  • Engaging in local business development and networking to grow the team's presence in the market

Financial & Compliance:

  • Preparing completion statements, managing funds, and ensuring all financial procedures are followed

  • Liaising with accounts and compliance departments to maintain firm-wide standards


The Ideal Candidate

The firm is seeking an individual who:

  • Is a qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive, or Licensed Conveyancer

  • Has significant experience running a residential conveyancing caseload from start to finish

  • Possesses previous leadership or supervisory experience within a legal setting

  • Is IT-literate and familiar with legal case management systems

  • Is professional, approachable, and confident in client-facing and business development activities

  • Has a strong sense of initiative and is committed to the delivery of high-quality, personal legal services
