CK Group are currently recruiting for a Laboratory Manager to join a chemical manufacturing company in the oil and additives industry at their site based in the Basildon area, on a full time, permanent basis.

The Client:

Our client is a privately owned organisation who specialise in formulating, manufacturing and supplying chemicals used in the oil and gas industry. The company offers a salary of £34,000 as well as a generous benefits package including 25 days' holiday + bank holidays, pension scheme with a company contribution of 9%, life assurance scheme, private healthcare, employee assistance programme and discretionary bonus scheme.

Location:

This role will be based at the company's site near Basildon, easily commutable by road from Chelmsford, Romford, Wickford, Southend, Grays and surrounding areas. 

Lab Manager Role:

Your main duties will include:

Supervising the laboratory technicians and providing training and support as required
 Holding performance reviews and setting objectives for the laboratory technicians
 Provide support to the Technical and Sales teams as required
 Responsible for the maintenance of laboratory equipment
 You may have to cover the occasional night shift for holiday and/or sickness cover
 Responsible for all in house testing of raw materials and finished products
 Responsible for upkeep and ordering of all consumables required for the laboratory
 Responsible for sample disposal
Your Background:

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

A Chemistry Degree
 Previous experience managing an Analytical, QC or Testing Laboratory
