Summary

A Mechanical Services Project Manager is needed by a growing Mechanical & Electrical services contractor, based in Southampton. The position is a permanent role where you will be working from the office based in Ower, Southampton, but will also involve site visits around the South of England.

The successful candidate will manage and co-ordinate all aspects of the design, procurement, installation and commissioning of projects assigned to them, ensuring that high quality, compliant installations are delivered to the customer in a manner consistent with the company's contract management system. Further to establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with our customers and supply chain. The successful candidate will have mechanical services technical bias, but with the ability to manage complete Mechanical & Electrical projects alongside an electrical bias Site Manager.

Key Activities include:

* Management of design or pre-commencement phase

* Liaise with clients, consultants, quantity surveyors and other third parties

* Procurement of the project (sub-contract packages, materials, plant) before we start on site

* Production of construction/commissioning programmes

* Management of your site manager ensuring effectiveness in their role

* Management of site team including subcontractors

* Achieving project milestones and deadlines

* Financial management of the project and working to budgets set

* Quality control

* Health and safety management of all project staff

* Management of the commissioning activities

* Final successful delivery of project(s) to completion dates

The ideal Project Manager will have:

* Mechanical and electrical contractor background

* Experience on design and build, new build and refurbishment projects

* High level of technical knowledge

* Excellent communication skills

* High degree of personal motivation, such that

* Commercial acumen

* Strong negotiation skills

* Willing and able to accept personal responsibility for your project(s)
