The Supply Register is proud to be working in partnership with the Wade Deacon Trust, supporting the exceptional team at Yew Tree Primary Academy. We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to provide tailored 1:1 support for a student with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEN/D).

This role is ideal for an HLTA passionate about inclusion and experienced in working with children with additional needs, including those who may be non-verbal.

About the Role:

As an HLTA, you will take a proactive leadership role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of a student with SEN/D. You will contribute to planning and delivering individualized learning activities, fostering independence and confidence in the student, and supporting the wider classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver targeted 1:1 support to a student with SEN/D, adapting strategies to meet their unique needs, including communication challenges.
Lead and deliver small group interventions or whole-class support under the guidance of the Class Teacher.
Collaborate closely with the SENCo to implement and evaluate the student's Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) goals.
Support the Class Teacher in behavior management and contribute to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

What We're Looking For:

HLTA status or equivalent qualifications.
Proven experience supporting students with SEN/D, particularly those with non-verbal communication needs.
Knowledge of SEN strategies and tools, such as sensory interventions, speech and language programs, or behavior management techniques.
Strong interpersonal skills for working with children, parents, teachers, and external professionals.
Ability to work independently and take initiative, while contributing as part of a team.
A current DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
