Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 per annum

Elevation Accountancy and Finance are delighted to be working alongside a fantastic business in Wakefield as they look to recruit an Assistant Accountant into their team on a full time, permanent basis.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation of management accounts to group
  • Budgeting/forecasting across a multi-site global business
  • Monitor and drive improvements in the businesses working capital
  • Ensure the efficient and effective management of the company's cash flow
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist in the preparation of month end and year-end financial closing processes
  • Assist with the annual audit and preparation of statutory accounts
  • Perform regular reconciliation of transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness of records
  • Provide backup support for the weekly invoicing process, ensuring all related data is accurate and up to date
  • Assist in the management and update of sales agreements, ensuring that terms and conditions are clearly documented and adhered to
  • Support the preparation and processing of payment runs, ensuring accuracy and timely payments to vendors and service providers
  • Assist with managing AR/AP
  • Monitor and review existing contracts to ensure compliance with agreed terms and identify opportunities for rate adjustments based on market conditions or service changes
  • Lead and supervise the financial administration team, ensuring smooth and efficient day-to-day operations and monitor supervise the financial administration team performance, set objectives, and conduct regular 
  • Ad Hoc from the head of finance/financial controller

Person Specification:

  • AAT qualified, studying towards ACCA
  • Strong analytical skills and Microsoft Office skills including advance Excel and Power Bi skills
  • Ability to analyse, reconcile and interpret financial information
  • Ability to quickly form working relationships and gain credibility with a wide selection of stakeholders from different levels and disciplines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and proactively manage workload to effectively deliver multiple tasks whilst maintaining attention to detail
