Clinical Lead Role
St Andrew’s is part of an exciting network delivering highly specialised mental health treatment to Military Veterans with a specific focus on supporting those with complex trauma needs.
Op Courage was formed by NHSE in 2021 to improve on Veterans’ access to seamless mental health provision previously provided by the Veterans Mental Health Complex Treatment Service.
St Andrew’s is proud to have been part of this network of specialised care for the past six years and of the track record we have established in being able to support Veterans mental health. We are fortunate to work with two of the five national Op Courage providers in the East Midlands and East of England working with a collaboration of providers serving the mental health needs of Veterans.
We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Consultant Psychologist specialised in the delivery of trauma therapies to lead our team of highly skilled clinicians.
The Role
The successful applicant will join highly motivated and friendly team and you will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team whose focus is on providing specialist psychosocial interventions for veterans with service-attributable trauma. The team is part of a collaborative partnership in both the Midlands and East of England and so you will be working alongside colleagues in other partner organisations to ensure the delivery of the local Op Courage Veteran Mental Health & Wellbeing Service.
This role will suit a person already located in the Midlands or East of England / East Anglia who has a genuine interest in working with Veteran’s and clinical experience to match their needs. Your clinical case load will be in the region you are based. Whilst Op Courage spans a wide geography, we want to work with the right candidate to make the role sustainable and enjoyable so can offer flexibility in how to manage this with a team of 12 other clinicians.
You will have significant experience of working with complex mental health presentations, including chronic and complex PTSD and substantial experience in supervising others. Experience of delivering community-based treatment will be essential in helping you work with our partners and service users to deliver a bespoke and flexible service that reflect trauma informed best practice.
You will have an established track record of leading and inspiring teams and an established ethos of using outcome data and service user feedback to drive service development. Although the offices are based in Northampton, the post holder will also be required to deliver psychological treatments and attend partnership events in the Midlands and East of England. Due to the travel required, a full driver’s licence is essential. However, in return, you will also benefit from having the flexibility to work from home when appropriate to do so.
