Key Responsibilities:
As an Assistant Manager, you will be dealing with Corporate Tax compliance together with the provision of taxation consultancy services. The role will be under the supervision of and reporting to the relevant Tax Managers and Partners.
- Preparation and submission of Corporation Tax Computations and CT600's.
- Dealing with basic tax queries on behalf of clients.
- Contact with H M Revenue & Customs as necessary.
- Routine tax advisory assignments under the guidance of the Tax Managers, Tax Directors and Tax Partners.
- Managing a small portfolio of clients.
- To assist with the management of a portfolio of clients to ensure that all Tax computations and Corporate Tax Returns are prepared and submitted to H M Revenue & Customs by the due dates.
- Calculation of the client's tax liabilities together with a reconciliation of the tax due and advising clients accordingly.
- Initial preparation for meetings under the instruction and guidance of the Tax Partners and other senior members of the Tax Department.
- Attendance at meetings with clients, potential clients and contact with the Tax Partner and other senior members of the Tax Department.
- Preparation of meeting notes using the firm's standard format.
- Circulation of meeting notes and following up on action points.
- General client administration.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
- Working towards ACA/CTA
- Applies technical skills to provide solutions to client via an understanding of the tax system.
- To be proactive in identifying changes in the legislation and how these impacts on own client base.
- Ensures application of the firm's technical standards in carrying out own work.
- Maintains and develops technical knowledge through appropriate training.
- Seeks advice where appropriate in order to minimise risk.
- Uses IT software efficiently to carry out work.
- Delegates work to junior staff and reviews work for technical accuracy.
- Develop a specialism in insolvencies / academies / not for profit.
