Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and independent Part-Time Payroll Specialist to manage all aspects of our payroll processes. This role offers flexible working hours and a hybrid work arrangement. The successful candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of payroll systems and legislation, ensuring accurate and timely payroll operations.
Key Responsibilities: - Process the company’s payroll every pay period.
- Maintain the payroll processing system and records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data.
- Compute employee take-home pay based on pensions, benefits, taxes, unpaid time off; holiday, sick leave and maternity/paternity leave payments.
- Prepare and process monthly payroll with electronic payslips (including submission of RTI, HMRC Year End reporting, P11Ds, P60s, P45s for employees, and BACS payments for employees and third parties).
- Process PAYE deductions and send payroll information to HM Revenue & Customs.
- Generate reports such as Gross to Net; Control Total; P32.
- Submit relevant HMRC monthly and annual returns within statutory deadlines.
- Address employee questions about wages, deductions, etc.
- Adhere to payroll policies and procedures while complying with relevant laws.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in payroll records.
- Ensure confidentiality of employees’ pay records.
- Complete payroll reports for audits or managerial review.
- Verify direct debit banking information from new employees.
- Administer employee and company pension salary sacrifice contributions and upload them to providers' platforms.
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role managing end-to-end payroll independently.
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll processes and relevant legislation
- Proficient knowledge of payroll software
- Excellent numerical skills with attention to detail.
