Our client is the recognised leader in the design, manufacture and supply of HV power supplies within the spectrometry instrumentation industry. They have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Test Engineer.
Role Summary
To investigate and document failure analysis and determine trends of failure on products at Pre-test and final test. To test product releases over a wide range of hardware platforms to ensure a high-quality product is delivered to the customer and be involved in the continuing re-assessment of quality procedures and practices used within the Test department.
Key Responsibilities
▪ Fault finding and repair to component level.
▪ Organize and prioritize own workload, highlighting any issues or delays.
▪ Where necessary raise issues in a timely manner with the responsible supervisor/team leader.
▪ Produce and maintain a fault log from data gained during diagnosis of faulty equipment.
▪ Training and development of team members in fault finding techniques.
▪ Training of all team members in test equipment usage.
▪ Assist Production Engineering as required.
▪ Ensure Company procedures are followed with regard to Health and Safety, reporting issues and hazards as they arise.
▪ Undertake the repair/build of Test equipment.
Essential Skills and Experience
▪ Strong testing and excellent problem-solving skills.
▪ Capable of fault finding at component level - electronics
▪ Ability to read and understand circuit diagrams.
▪ Ability to liaise and negotiate with other departments.
▪ Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
▪ Capable of and willing to mentor junior members of the department.
▪ Ability to follow and report exactly as described in test procedures
▪ Qualified to ONC in electronics or equivalent time served.
This is a full time position. The hours are 07.30 to 16.15 Mon to Thur and 08.30 to 13.00 Friday
