We are looking for a Director of Sales who will be responsible to assist in creating a strategic sales plan. We are looking for a Director of Sales who has experience in a large MICE focused hotel but also someone who is a very strategic thinker with several exciting projects on the way we need someone who loves the thought of a challenge.

The role:

  • Agree and deploy best practice and guidance on SOP's and performance documentation to drive sales and conversion excellency and improve customer experience.
  • Agree and monitor performance metrics to drive sales in line with hotel budgets and client market share targets.
  • Take ownership of sales quality performance and testing including but not limited to areas such field sales appraisals, review of account animation plans, 3rd party quality testing tools such as BDRC.
  • In conjunction with General Manager, manages and monitors the annual sales business plans and where appropriate co-ordinates with various Arora Group central support functions and Brand support functions to help support the business plans.
  • Maintains direct relationship and communication with some key clients and certain strategically important clients to the hotel. At times, may be required to represent them at trade shows, client visits and other client communication opportunities.
  • Develops with both internal stakeholders and 3rd parties, a relevant and efficient training programme for all sales and events personnel. The training should focus on both skills training and people development.
  • Creates and facilitates an environment and process allowing all sales and events team members to refer to for assistance with best practice, client engagement, contractual queries and commercial decision making.
  • Participate in the sales and events balanced scorecard and submit a monthly report.
  • Prepare and complete other sales and events related reports as and when directed or necessary.

Skills & Experience required:

  • A successful track record of sales and events management in a hotel environment or similar hospitality industry. Ideally at least 3 years in a sales and events senior leadership role.
  • Experience of working with major global hotel brands is ideal.
  • Team player with strong & positive people skills
  • Demonstrate self-confidence, energy, and enthusiasm.
  • Willing to adapt and change styles as and when necessary.
  • Ability to adapt to a frequently changing market environment. Be initiative-taking and able to “think outside of the box”.
  • Develops constructive relationships both with hotel departments, brand partners, external clients, and suppliers.
  • Fantastic communicator.
  • Strong commercial approach identifying sales and revenue maximisation opportunities.
