Exciting Opportunity for an Operator in the Commodity Trading Industry

Are you a skilled and detail-oriented professional with experience in the commodity trading sector? We are seeking an Operator to join our team, focusing on the efficient management of truck rack operations. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the core of our trading operations, ensuring the smooth and compliant movement of products and optimizing deal execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations for various business desks, with a primary focus on truck rack operations.
  • Handle logistics, cost control, record keeping, and contract administration.
  • Perform trades as per contract and update delivery notes from terminals to the nomination book.
  • Maintain accurate volume actualizations in the trading system and manage truck rack operations.
  • Keep senior operations and the settlements team informed on completed truck liftings for finalizing volumes and payments.
  • Ensure receipt of daily stock reports from local agents, including BL splits.
  • Maintain lifting schedules and actualized truck volumes, with detailed tracking of each truck's information.
  • Advise traders on potential issues and develop logistical solutions to optimize deal execution.
  • Manage the safe, compliant, and efficient movement of products via various transportation modes.
  • Communicate effectively with terminal personnel, customers, suppliers, and truck owners/operators to ensure timely order execution.
  • Oversee inventory management, including monitoring stocks, scheduling, quality review, sampling, and blending operations.
  • Request releases/LC’s or prepayments through the finance department and review/approve operational invoices.
  • Collaborate with the accounting department to ensure accurate deal entry in the Allegro system.
  • Provide timely and accurate inventory position information to traders.
  • Ensure all cargoes comply with relevant incoterms per deal and nominate cargo inspectors, carriers, and loss control where applicable.
  • Inform clients of cargo details and provide necessary documents.
  • Maintain accurate records of operational deal movements for regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in cross-training opportunities and provide ad-hoc support to the senior operations team as necessary.
  • Coordinate logistics, financing, and inventory control of all product shipments with other offices.
  • Develop strategic business relationships with external counterparts and attend industry events.
  • Perform additional ad-hoc reporting or duties as assigned.
