GSL are looking for an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a vibrant Special Needs Secondary school near Hilsea. This special school caters for pupils aged 11-16 years who have complex learning difficulties. In addition to their learning difficulties, some pupils have other needs associated with autistic spectrum condition, medical conditions, speech, language and communication difficulties.

The school has a rich and balanced curriculum with a focus on outdoor learning, preparation for adulthood and life skills such as cooking. They offer a fantastic range of sports facilities including a swimming pool and a lovely gardening area for the children to learn and grow in.

An ideal candidate will have an energetic and bubbly personality, ready to inspire children. They will have a passion for working with children and will have experience supporting people who have complex learning difficulties.

Job role:

-            Working under the guidance of a teacher supporting small groups of pupils with learning tasks.

-            Supporting children to achieve their personalised EHCP targets.

-            Supporting children's emotional wellbeing and communication skills.

-            Working with children aged 11-16.

-            Safeguarding will be your number one priority ensuring the welfare of the pupils.

Job specification:

-            Full time 8:30am - 3:30pm (Mon - Fri)

-            £83.33 - £95 per day

-            Temporary to permanent contract

-            Location: Hilsea

-            Start date: ASAP

Have the right to work in the UK. 

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
