The Transport Planner role will suit a well-rounded organiser and excellent communicator.

Logistics Planning And Execution
Designing and implementing effective logistics plans. This includes optimizing routes, scheduling deliveries and collections, and coordinating the movement to ensure timely and cost-effective operations. They must consider factors such as vehicle availability, load capacity, customer requirements, and legal restrictions.
Responsibilities
* Evaluate and assess best route for delivering and collecting customer vehicles bearing in mind cost implications of logistics and customer service and instruct drivers accordingly.
* Book in collections and deliveries using our in house system
* At the end of each day manage and report all failed collections.
* Ensure that drivers are informed of lorry inspection date and time, liaise with other departments to ensure the smooth running of this.
* Complete a daily update of drivers/rounds (Including breakdowns/driver problems) and advise the General Manager
* Implement a new route planner and tracking system
* Initial contact in dealing with the collection of information from drivers for the notification of damage
* Continually review all administrative processes and systems in place and to assist with any proposals for improvements required.
* Prepare the weekly driver working rota to ensure necessary cover to fulfil deliveries and collections including Saturday working for the drivers and advise the General Manager accordingly.
* Ensure vehicle daily checks are carried out by drivers and that each vehicle is kept clean and tidy by drivers.
* Carry out any other required tasks by the General Manager
* Co-ordinating and updating all delivery schedules
* Liaising closely with customers with regards to delivery ETA's/scheduling etc
