Red Snapper Recruitment are recruiting for a Travelling Communities Service Manager based in Wiltshire & B&NES.

The purpose of this role is to provide to manage the Travelling Communities Outreach Services in B&NES and Wiltshire and the Wiltshire GRT Domestic Abuse Service, ensuring performance KPI objectives, quality standards and contractual obligations are met through effective management of Travelling Communities teams, reflecting the values of Julian House. Maintain a visible and active presence within Travelling Communities teams. Ensure service improvements are embedded within Travelling Communities services.

This is a part-time 30 hours, permanent contract role offering a salary of £23,002.40 per annuum.

(Participation in an on-call, out-of-hours rota)

You must have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.

Main duties and responsibilities

* Provide operational management and staff line management, including setting targets, monitoring and addressing any performance issues

* Ensure clients are provided with a high-quality, person-centred service

* Establish positive working relationships with external agencies

* Manage teams, responsible for effective delivery of client-led practices that deliver positive outcomes.

* Provide operational management, staff line management of Travelling Communities project teams, including setting of targets, monitoring, and addressing any performance issues.

* Provide supportive line management and supervision to team members, ensuring regular reviews are in place, including monthly supervisions, PDRs and any other reviews as appropriate.

* Manage Travelling Communities staff teams to provide expert support to clients, encouraging clients to co-produce support plans.

* Lead the effective recruitment, induction, support and ongoing development of staff.

* Contribute fully as a member of the Operations Management Team to achieve team/organisation objectives and standards, promoting effective communication and teamwork.

* Maintain team performance to agreed internal KPIs and external contracted targets.

* Ensure organisational financial procedures are maintained.

* Ensure teams have in place effective tracking of project referrals, engagement and outcomes with clients moving on positively from services.

* Ensure clients are provided with high-quality, person-centred services, which take a strength-based and trauma-informed approach.

* Work with finance to manage service income and expenditure, adhering to the annual budget for service projects set by Finance.

* Ensure appropriate health, safety and compliance actions are met by service teams.

* Embed and support the use of volunteers in Travelling Communities projects.

* Liaise with local authorities/higher education providers and HR to arrange work placements for social work students. Mentor social work students as required.

* Undertake travel to support staff and clients and participate in internal and external meetings, as required.

* Spend one day per week based at our Rosewell Court Bath office, the remainder of the time in Wiltshire at either our Chippenham or Devizes office

Person Specification

* Have full driving license and access to own car.

* Good knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Word, email and basic spread sheets.

* Proven experience of managing complex projects e.g., outreach or accommodation-based support services which deliver positive outcomes.

* Proven experience of managing teams through change and implementing a culture of excellence, teamwork, and high performance,

* Track record in implementing service improvements and innovation within projects.

* Experience of managing budgets and achieving VFM within projects.

* Willingness to travel anywhere in B&NES, Wiltshire and other areas as required to fulfil the requirements of the role
