Senior Business Support Officer
Location: Hybrid - Westminster City Hall & Remote Working
Hours: 36 per week | Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm
Contract: 3 months (12th May 2025 - 4th August 2025), with potential to extend
Pay Rate: £27 per hour
IR35 Status: Inside IR35

About the RoleWestminster City Council is seeking a Senior Business Support Officer to join the Housing & Commercial Partnership team. This is a key administrative role supporting a busy Head of Service, ensuring the smooth running of daily operations and managing a varied, fast-paced workload.
This is a hybrid working role - initial training will be onsite at Westminster City Hall, followed by remote working arrangements.
What You'll Be DoingProviding high-level administrative support to the Head of Service
Managing inboxes, coordinating diaries, and prioritising tasks
Acting as first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
Logging and managing cases, maintaining spreadsheets and data systems
Handling queries with empathy, professionalism, and initiative
Taking ownership of workstreams and driving them to resolution
Liaising with teams across the council to ensure efficient communication

Essential Skills & Experience:
Previous experience in a Business Support Officer or senior admin role
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong organisational and time management abilities
Confidence handling sensitive queries and data
Skilled in using spreadsheets and digital case management tools
Able to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
