The London Clinic has an exciting opportunity for an exceptional leader to join the hospital in a new role, Associate Director of Diagnostics and Outpatients. This role will lead and drive the delivery of excellent clinical care within diagnostics and outpatients. We are offering a competitive salary starting from £95K per annum dependent on experience.

Job description

This role will lead and drive efficient and effective outpatient services that are responsive to patient and consultant needs. Providing strong clinical leadership and support to nurses, allied health professionals and consultants. Developing a culture of patient safety, clinical effectiveness and efficiency and continuous improvement of the patient, staff and consultant experience.

The successful candidate will work closely with consultants enhancing relationships as well as developing new business and growth opportunities. The role will play a significant part in delivering against the wider hospital strategy.

Job type: Full time, working 37½ hours per week.

Salary: £95K per annum

Key duties & responsibilities

  • To define and lead the strategy for diagnostics and outpatients to deliver excellent care and services supporting optimised patient pathways
  • To define and lead the strategy for diagnostics including capital replacement program and utilization program and space planning for the outpatient estate while maintaining services
  • To lead the definition and development of centers of excellence within diagnostics and outpatients
  • To provide clinical leadership to diagnostic and outpatient teams including nurses, allied health professionals and consultants
  • To maximise the operational and financial performance of diagnostic and outpatient services, working closely with Director of Clinical Services, consultants and other stakeholders.
  • To identify and lead cost improvement programs while improving quality of services
  • To lead and promote innovations that will deliver growth and improve patient care
  • To identify opportunities and advocate for change including organisational change
  • To empower and lead the operational managers on delivering excellent clinical care within diagnostics and outpatients including Imaging, Endoscopy, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Ophthalmology and Outpatients including consultant clinics.
  • The post holder will lead by example to build a culture where staff are motivated and driven by delivering excellent clinical care by being responsive to issues and accountable for their service.

Skills & experience

  • Ability to shape and implement a vision and strategy for a clinical excellent service
  • Strong relationship building and ability to influence with both internal and external senior stakeholders, including at exec board level.
  • Ability to lead an assessment of services to ensure patient safety standards and governance requirements are met
  • Ability to lead and deliver an action plan for continuous quality improvements
  • Ability to critically analyse complex information and evaluate a range of options to identify service improvements
