Family Solicitor

A well-established law firm in Reading is seeking an experienced Family Solicitor to join its expanding Family Department. This is an excellent opportunity to manage a varied caseload, supervise junior team members, and contribute to the growth of the department in a supportive and collaborative environment.
The Role
The successful candidate will handle a wide range of private family law matters, including:
- Divorce and separation, with a focus on financial disputes and child arrangements.
- Private law children matters, some funded through Legal Aid.
- Applications under the Family Law Act (Legal Aid and privately funded).
- Supervising trainees and junior staff, ensuring compliance with Legal Aid regulations.
- Actively contributing to the department's growth by building a caseload, particularly focusing on privately funded matters.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- 3-5+ years PQE in family law.
- Membership with Resolution (essential).
- Family Law Panel membership or be a Resolution Accredited Specialist.
- Experience working independently and confidently with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with Legal Aid-funded matters or a willingness to undergo training.
- Strong interpersonal skills and IT proficiency, with the ability to work as part of a small, friendly team.
- A following of clients (preferred) or a commitment to building a primarily privately funded caseload.
