Teaching Personnel are working closely with a secondary school in Fareham who is renowned for its commitment to academic excellence and student well-being. The school offers a diverse curriculum designed to meet the needs of all students, fostering both intellectual and personal growth. It places a strong emphasis on creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student can thrive. They are seeking an experienced and passionate Religious Education Teacher. This role is perfect for a fully qualified teacher (QTS essential) who can bring expertise, dedication, and insight to the student's learning experience. The position involves one day per week—every Wednesday—from January to April, with responsibilities including full lesson planning, delivery, and marking.

Key Responsibilities

Engaging Lesson Delivery: Design and deliver captivating and informative RE lessons that cater to a diverse group of students, covering a broad spectrum of religious beliefs, values, and philosophical ideas.
Planning and Preparation: Develop well-structured lesson plans that align with the school curriculum, ensuring lessons are thought-provoking, inclusive, and accessible to all students.
Student Assessment and Marking: Conduct formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to help students reflect on their learning, progress, and areas for improvement.
Classroom Management: Foster a respectful, open classroom environment where students feel comfortable exploring complex topics. Maintain high standards of behaviour and encourage positive interaction.
Inclusive Teaching: Ensure lessons support and engage all students, including those with SEND and additional learning needs, by adapting resources and teaching strategies accordingly.
Student Engagement and Participation: Encourage students to actively engage in discussions, question ideas, and develop critical thinking skills related to religion, ethics, and philosophy.
Promote Respect and Understanding: Guide students in understanding and respecting a variety of religious perspectives and cultural traditions, emphasising tolerance and empathy.
Regular Reporting and Communication: Liaise with parents/carers and the wider teaching team to provide updates on student progress, sharing insights into each student's development and achievements.

The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified teacher with QTS and have recent experience teaching Religious Education at the secondary level. We are looking for an individual who:

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
