We are seeking a dedicated HR & Payroll Manager with a strong background in HR Administration and a good working knowledge of payroll and HMRC legislation. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing payroll and HR administration activities, ensuring compliance, and supporting the HR team in various functions.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Manage payroll and HR administration, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current legislation.
  • Cover for the Payroll Clerk in their absence and maintain the Time and Attendance system.
  • Oversee the HR administration team, ensuring continual improvement and accurate record-keeping.
  • Conduct right to work checks and manage the starters and leavers process.
  • Handle long service awards, special birthday cards, and absence management.
  • Update and maintain HR systems, such as Workday, and provide training to new starters.
  • Assist in recruitment, conducting interviews, and completing new starter documentation.
  • Deliver company HR inductions and support managers in disciplinary and grievance processes.
  • Liaise with Occupational Health providers and ensure any recommendations are communicated effectively.
  • Maintain consistency in HR matters across the business and adhere to Employment Law.
  • Collaborate with the HR Business Partner and Learning and Development Manager on talent development and retention strategies.
  • Produce documentation for personnel-related issues and support HR initiatives and events.
  • Conduct exit interviews and be involved in providing payroll audit information.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • High level of confidentiality and attention to detail.
  • Professional, approachable, with excellent communication skills.
  • Creative, innovative, and willing to learn.
  • Flexible approach to work and ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Good computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in a HR/Personnel Department, preferably within a manufacturing business.
  • Knowledge of Time and Attendance Systems, ideally Hydra.
  • Experience with payroll, preferably using Sage Payroll, Workday.
  • Payroll Technician Certificate and CIPD qualification up to level 5 desirable
  • Ambition to develop into a qualified HR Professional.
