The CompanyDelighted to be working with an international, leading organisation in their search for a Procurement Category Manager.Our Client will support a mix of 2-3 days remote working, 2 days per week office based - Sunderland or Yorkshire.The RoleReporting into a Head of Department and working within a close-knit team, the Procurement Category Manager will:
  • Have multi-site UK wide Procurement responsibility for FM, HR, Utilities (alongside the Head of Department)
  • Support and deputise for the Department Head, as required
  • Conduct market analysis, new supplier sourcing, contract negotiations
  • Complete end to end tender management
  • Manage supplier performance/contract performance and manage variations
  • Perform data analysis - producing monthly management information packs, powerpoint presentations and report dashboards 
About YouThe successful Procurement Category Manager will have/be:
  • Public Sector or Utilities Sector regulated procurement experience OR  the Client will consider candidates from other sectors including Manufacturing provided that you have a variety of indirect strategic procurement experience 
  • Strategic indirect procurement experience essential 
  • Strengths in data analytics – advanced Excel skills, with the ability to perform pivot tables and to produce dashboards/MI reports essential
  • Proficient with MS Office and Sharepoint
  • Experience of NEC contracts/contract management beneficial
  • Excellent communication skills - confident in engaging, communicating and building relationships cross functionally with stakeholders of all levels – able to challenge/advise internal stakeholders as to procurement best practice/support streams
  • Proactive, positive can-do attitude, comfortable with end-to-end tender management and contract management
  • Assertive, proactive, eager to learn and able to hit the ground running
  • Willing to travel UK wide as required
