Job Vacancy: Commercial Lawyer (3+ PQE)Location: Newcastle upon Tyne (Hybrid Working 1-2 office days per week)Salary: One of the highest in the regionRole Overview:We have an exciting opportunity for a commercial contracts lawyer with 3+ years PQE to senior PQE to join a thriving team and support a growing pipeline of projects.Key Responsibilities- Advise on a full spectrum of contractual arrangements, from strategic projects to day-to-day business operations, across various industries.- Focus on supporting advanced manufacturing clients, including major process plant operators and specialised life sciences businesses, particularly in areas such as procurement, supply chain management, product development, and market entry strategies.- Engage in energy transition and decarbonisation projects, as well as productivity improvement initiatives.- Contribute to all aspects of transactions and projects, including contract strategy, drafting and negotiation, with some involvement in data protection (supported by our privacy specialists) and risk management.- Collaborate closely with clients' in-house legal teams, providing an in-house style of support for businesses without internal legal departments.- Work alongside team members with extensive industry experience, offering a diverse workload and opportunities to engage with a wide range of specialists.- Assist in expanding our work on multi-jurisdictional projects, particularly large-scale industrial projects for multinational corporations and fast-growing SMEs.- Help businesses in the North of England, across the UK, and in international markets like the USA and Saudi Arabia.*Opportunities for international secondments are also available.*Ideal Candidate:We are seeking a lawyer with:- A minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience in commercial contracts as a UK Solicitor (England, Wales, or Scotland).- Proven experience in a commercial environment, with hands-on application of contract law, gained at a City firm, large regional firm, or in-house.- Expertise in complex and high-profile transactions, including supply chain management, procurement/outsourcing, R&D, and the supply of goods and services through various sales channels.- Strong drafting and communication skills, with the ability to deliver complex advice in a clear, practical, and client-friendly manner.- Experience with international clients and familiarity with import and export laws is advantageous.- Knowledge of tech, IP, and data protection is beneficial but not essential.- A genuine passion for the practice area and a commitment to delivering first-class service to clients.If you're ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role, we'd love to hear from you.If you are interested I would encourage you to apply today.
