What you'll be doing
As a Technical Surveyor, you will be responsible for inspecting and surveying cemeteries, properties, and memorials to assess their structural condition, identifying potential issues and proposing construction solutions. You'll use systems like K2 to document conditions, generate work instructions, and manage financial risks. You will also liaise with local authorities to obtain permissions for works and collaborate with the Senior Works Supervisor to plan maintenance cycles.
You will oversee projects from start to finish, ensuring compliance with health and safety policies and providing professional advice on conservation and restoration matters. In addition to project management responsibilities, you will prepare specifications, work schedules, and tenders for contractors. Your work will contribute directly to the preservation of our heritage while supporting the smooth delivery of maintenance and structural projects, all with great opportunities to travel throughout the UK, Baltics, and Scandinavia.
What you need to have
- A degree (or equivalent) in Building Surveying, Construction, or a related field
- Full manual driving licence
- Proven experience in building surveying and writing work specifications
- Track record of managing contractors, suppliers, stakeholders, and customer-related issues
- Solid experience in project management within construction, restoration, or conservation contexts
- Proficiency in Microsoft packages, including Project
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong relationship-building skills
