Are you an experienced finance professional with a strong background in higher education? This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading UK university as a Finance Business Partner, supporting their Professional Services Directorate.

As a key member of the university’s finance team, you will play a pivotal role in partnering with senior stakeholders across Professional Services - including HR, IT, Estates, and Student Services - to provide strategic financial insight, budgeting support, and performance analysis. This role is instrumental in driving informed decision-making and ensuring the university’s professional service functions operate efficiently and effectively.

• Act as the lead finance partner for assigned Professional Services areas

• Provide robust financial analysis, forecasting, and budget management

• Support business cases, investment appraisals, and cost-saving initiatives

• Build trusted relationships with Directors and senior stakeholders

• Contribute to wider finance improvement projects and initiatives

We’re looking for a collaborative, commercially minded finance professional who thrives in a complex and fast-paced environment. Ideally, you will have:

• Experience working within a higher education institution

• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills

• Proven ability to translate financial data into meaningful insight

• A professional finance qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

• £65,000 per annum (pro rata for 4 days)

• Permanent contract with a flexible 4-day working week
