Quality Manager / Quality Improvement Manager / Quality Control Manager to join a leading engineering manufacturer based in Croydon.

The Quality Manager will oversee and enhance our Quality Management System. This role involves maintaining compliance with key standards, supervising the quality team, managing audits, and driving continuous improvement in quality processes.

The successful Quality Manager will have ideally had a mechanical engineering background working within the rail industry and ensure compliance with ISO 9001, RISQS, and RISAS standards.

Responsibilities include:
Maintain and enhance the Quality Management System for the Croydon office and field service teams.
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, RISQS, and RISAS standards.
Coordinate with customer and third-party auditors to maintain company approvals.
Supervise the Quality Team and ensure effective inspection processes.
Conduct supplier assessments and establish a supplier rating system.
Create and manage the internal audit plan.
Review and approve quality-related customer and supplier requirements.
Manage the NCR system for non-conformance reports.
Promote a 'right first time' ethic to reduce non-quality costs and improve OPEX.
Stay updated with industry and quality regulations and standards.
Serve as the point of contact for quality inquiries and reportable KPIs.
Maintain the Company Management System (CMS) and calibration register.
36.5-hour work week (Monday to Thursday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, Friday 8:30 am - 3:30 pm).
Commutable to Croydon.
 
Requirements Include:
Previous experience as Quality Manager, Quality Improvement Manager, Quality Control Manager, Quality Engineer, Quality Team Leader, Senior Quality Manager, or similar
Experience in Quality Management within an engineering environment.
Qualified and experienced Lead Auditor in internal audit planning and scheduling.
Experience working within the rail industry would be beneficial. 
Commercial awareness - the impact of poor quality on contracts.
Proficiency in ERP systems and general IT skills.
