Job Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech and Language Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with communication difficulties, language disorders, and social communication challenges. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with students, teachers, and families to enhance communication skills and improve learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess the speech, language, and communication needs of students.
Develop and implement individualized therapy plans for students based on their specific needs.
Work collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, and other support staff to provide integrated support within the classroom.
Monitor and evaluate the progress of students and adjust therapy plans as needed.
Provide training and advice to staff and families to support students' communication development.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of therapy sessions and progress reports.
Contribute to multi-disciplinary team meetings and collaborate on education, health, and care plans (EHCPs).

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

Recognized degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Experience working with children or young people with SEND, ideally within a school setting.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Desirable Skills:

Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems.
Experience in delivering training to staff and families.
Flexibility and creativity in supporting communication development across different learning environments.
